Thank you for doing the great important hard work. And I loved all those resources at the end. I’m wondering if you have that in the written version I’m assuming you do I haven’t looked at it because I’m busy gluing! Video would be cool to see some of the rescues you foster. Thanks so much. Have a beautiful day Cindy.
Thank you for this, Cindy. I am currently working on a post about an experience of disenfranchised grief. I’ve been writing it in my head for years, and this piece has inspired me to finally post it.
I’ve been sitting with my cat Mini for several days now. A good day, followed by a not-so-good one. Hard to sleep, and difficult to leave here alone. I thought I was prepared for this, having been through it so many ones before. But of course I’m not. It will be hard.
Thank you for sharing the grief resources. I deeply appreciate it. And thank you for the work you do. You are so generous and kind.🙏❤️🦮🐈⬛
Thank you, Cindy. You’re very sweet. Mini’s had two good days in a row. She eats a small amount, goes up and down stairs, climbs onto the bed or loveseat and uses the litterbox as well as she can. She’s very affectionateI love having her around. I know it will be hard when the time comes. But for now, we’re just happy to have each other.🐈🫶💕
Beautiful post, Cindy. I admire you for what you do to save animals. I wish I had your strength and courage, but I know how difficult it would be for me to let fosters go to their new homes. And thank you for sharing the coping with grief resources. I've lost five rescue dogs and am grateful for my two new rescue chihuahua mixes, but my grief for my lost loved dogs can still overwhelm me. I would never trade one minute of time with them, though, so the grief is just the price for all the gifts of their wonderful selves.
Sweet. And thank you for these resources. Two years ago I fostered a dog I found running in traffic. He was with me two months while I looked for a permanent home. I lucked out, and so did he. Now he lives on 2.5 acres with another dog, a cat, a horse, and a forever mom who adores him. Five hours from here, and I cried all the way home. Thank you for what you do.

Thanks for tuning in, Maureen! I hope the gluing is going well. I thought of you when I watched Olympic gymnastics and all the sparkly leotards!
Hah! Yes, I love sparkle. And she's now finished and headed to an exhibition!

Let me know if you’d like me to come sit with you through the difficult stuff. Nothing ever prepares one for the hard part of a pet growing older.

I can tell you have deep love for your pets! I know the grief is difficult. Take care of your soul.

I would cry, too! I hear lightness in your voice at the peace for finding him a good-fit home!
Thank you for your commitment to fostering and letting them go.
